UCD Marian with nearly 70% from field goal land in the first quarter thanks to Foley, Conroy and Galvin all with a brace of baskets ensured Marian started brightly and finished with a fantastic 84-61 win.

UCD Marian with nearly 70% from field goal land in the first quarter thanks to Foley, Conroy and Galvin all with a brace of baskets ensured Marian started brightly leading by 23-17 at the end of the first. Alan Casey kept the visitors in the game with a first quarter total of 8 all from mid range.

Robbie Clarke assisted Casey inside as Killester closed the gap to 2 23-21. Conor Meany and Matt Kelly would both find a couple of baskets each as Kelly particularly alert around free throw land made some good buckets as Marian opened up 35 poiints to Killester's 27. John Galvin with a nice tip in and a left hand drive would see Marian maintain a lead of 8. Again casey was the scoring thret around the hoop with an additional 6 points. Killester solid at the line made 4/4 thanks to Gomez and Laurence (Puff) Summers.

Half Time UCD Marian 37- 33 Killester.

Conor James kicked a nice pass outside to Conroy who nailed a long two. Galvin active made some good shots off the glass as Marian lead 50-39 with 4.46 left in the 3rd Q. Summers made 2/2 free throws before Conor Meany landed some excellent three pointers as Marian lead 56-41 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Killester in team foul trouble gave Marian 12 visits to the free throw line with 10 shots duly converted. Cathal finn with 4/4 here. End of the third 67-43 to Marian. Marian with the explosive 30 point quarter here and held Killester to a mere 10 points.

The last quarter academic in nature did see Killester claim the first 5 points to reduce arrears to 18 before normal order was restored by the home team with confident possession play and good passing moves seeing Galvin claim versatile scores. Again Marian with 6/7 at the free thorw line. Killester pretty accurate in the field with scores from Summers, Michael Westbrooks, Flood and the ever accurate Robbie Clarke with a long three pointer.

Both team to meet again next Sunday 25th November at 3pm in UCD which will see the last of the league games between the teams this season.
