Your UCARD is your official identification card as a student of UCD.
Where you can use your UCARD
You can use your UCARD for the following services:
- Electronic Payments in the Main Restaurant and other food outlets across campus, Residences Laundry, CopiPrint (Printing, Copying and Scanning), Centra, and Vending Machines
- Access to UCD Residences, UCD Sports & Fitness, the Library
- Use it as an electronic purse
- ISIC Card
- Time and Attendance
You can use your card anywhere you see the UCARD symbol next to a pay or service point.
Managing your UCARD
You can manage your UCARD via an online portal in SISWeb. From the MY UCARD
tab in SISWeb you can load credit onto the card with your credit/debit card, view your card balance, most recent transactions and loyalty UPOINTS earned, and, if necessary, ‘hotlist’ your card which deactivates it if it has been lost. Once you find your UCARD you can un-hotlist it too.
A list of where to top-up and use your UCARD is also available in the MY UCARD tab.
Your student UCARD ensures that facilities are appropriately accessed and utilised and that the University community is protected from the actions of persons not registered in the University. Your student UCARD remains the property of UCD at all times.
Getting a UCARD
New first year undergraduate students
will be allocated a time during Orientation Week for UCARD collection. Check your orientation timetable for more details. Please note that you must upload a photo for your UCARD before you arrive in UCD by 1 September
. Learn more about uploading your photo
Students changing programme (e.g. going from a Bachelor degree to a Masters) will need to go to the UCARD Bureau (in the JK Area of the Newman Building, just outside Theatre L) to get a card.
If you’re a returning UCD student, you will not have to queue each year for a new card. Your current UCARD is designed to last you for the duration of your programme in UCD.
