RETURNING FROM A LEAVE OF ABSENCE IN SEPTEMBER 2017
Dear Student,

Our records show that you are currently on a leave of absence from UCD. If you are due back in September 2017, this email will help you with what you need to do to get ready.

Please make sure that you check your UCD Connect email regularly throughout the academic year for important updates from the University.

SUPPORT AND ADVICE
As you are returning to your programme after a period of absence, you should contact your Graduate School Office/Programme Office for advice and programme support.

Other supports you may wish to avail of include the UCD Student Advisers and Student Health Services. A full list of the support available to you is available on the Current Students website.

If you decide not to return and would like to extend your leave of absence or withdraw from the University please speak with your Graduate School/Programme Office as soon as possible.

CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION FOR 2017/18
What you need to know
If you are an Undergraduate student, you will need to go online and book the time your module registration will start in August. Go to Key Dates and search for Start Time to find out when you need to do this. Read more about Start Times.

Graduate Taught, Occasional and Undergraduate Certificate and Diploma students will have a Start Time allocated to them. Keep an eye on your UCD Connect email for the details.

Graduate Research students do not need to book a Start Time.

When online registration opens for you in August please log into SISWeb and click on the Enter Registration button to confirm your registration. Go to Key Dates and search for online registration to see from when registration opens for your programme.

Please note
If you do not register, or do not successfully obtain another leave of absence, then your registration may be cancelled and you may be required to apply for re-admission.

PAY YOUR FEES
What you need to know
You must pay the appropriate amount of fees in order to be a fully registered student. Check for key dates and information on how much you need to pay. The first instalment is due on Sunday, 10 September 2017.

If you have any fees outstanding, it may affect your ability to register for 2017/18 or graduate if completing your studies. There is more information about this on the website.

You can make Online payments through your SISWeb account. To view your fees balance, visit SISWeb, enter your UCD student number and password and click on the Registration, Fees and Assessment tab.

Please ensure that you check your fees for 2017/2018 as fee rates may have changed since you were last registered to your programme

CHECK YOUR GRANT APPLICATION
What you need to know
If you have applied to SUSI for a grant there is no need to contact UCD about it as SUSI will tell us if your application is successful. You can check on your grant application using the SUSI online tracker.

REACTIVATE YOUR UCARD
What you need to know
Your Student Card (UCARD) will be reactivated for 2017/18 once you have confirmed your registration online.

If you need a new UCARD please go to the UCARD Bureau, located in the JK Area of the Newman Building, beside Theatre L.

Remember to keep your UCARD with you at all times as you will need it for identification purposes, for access to UCD services and to sit your exams.

VIEW YOUR STUDENT RECORD
What you need to know
You can view your student record in SISWeb at any point. Do this by logging into SISWeb using your UCD student number and password. Click on the Registration, Fees & Assessment tab and select UView in the menu list.

UView allows you to check information such as your Programme history, contact information, module registration, GPA and grades.

CHECK YOUR UCD EMAIL PREFERENCES
What you need to know
The University uses email as an official means of communication with students and provides a UCD Connect email to each student for this purpose.

In addition to the UCD Connect email, we will copy communications to the personal email account for all students who have provided a non-UCD Connect account.

What you need to do
  • Go to the ‘My Profile’ tab in SISWeb and check that your personal details are up to date
  • If you do not want UCD to use your personal email address, you can tell us using the ‘My Profile’ tab
Please note
Your UCD Connect email address remains the main point of contact for all communications.

What you need to do
A permit car parking system is in operation on the Belfield and Blackrock campuses. Eligible UCD community members (including students) may apply for a UCD Parking Permit. Read more about parking in UCD.
