A working group was established late last year to review the University’s Dignity and Respect Policy and Procedure. Having reviewed best practice, we are now consulting with the University Community around a new draft which you can view on our website. As a member of the University Community, inputs to these drafts can be submitted confidentially to engage@ucd.ie

Would you like to be part of a multi-disciplinary group of students drawn from voice, instrument and dance?

UCD will bring together a multi-disciplinary group of students to form UCD Ceol Ensemble – a multi-artistic group trained by top artistic directors. If you are an experienced Irish dancer of championship quality and interested in joining this group, please email ceol.ensemble@ucd.ie by Friday, 28 April, with your CV and a covering letter outlining your dance achievements. New Conflict of Interest and Employee-Student Relationship policies

Two new policies are now available. The Conflict of Interest Policy details how to avoid a conflict of interest arising and procedures to follow should a conflict arise. The Employee-Student Relationship Policy relates to a specific conflict of interest that could arise, where the onus of responsibility of disclosure lies with the employee.

Stop smoking course

The Department of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion at St Vincent’s University Hospital are running a free evening stop smoking course beginning on Monday, 8 May 2017. The course runs weekly from 5:30pm until 7:00pm each Monday for 6 weeks. To book a place contact 01 2214958 or email smokingservice@svuh.ie

Gender Identity and Expression Policy and Guidelines – university-wide consultation

The university-wide consultation process in relation to the Gender Identity and Expression Policy & Guidelines will remain open until Friday, 21 April 2017. Your input will contribute to the enhancement of these documents and to an inclusive university environment. Registration for UCD Better Bones and Better Hearts is now open

UCD Better Bones is a community based exercise programme that is suitable for improving bone health. It involves exercises designed by chartered physiotherapists targeted at sustaining bone health, as well as educational talks from a dietitian and pharmacist. This starts 23 May for 7 weeks. Better Hearts is a programme designed for improving cardiovascular health after a cardiac event starting on 23 May for 6 weeks. The James Joyce Library will be open from 7am - 12am midnight on the upcoming Bank Holiday Monday, 1 May 2017. The Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Richview and Blackrock libraries will be closed. See our full opening hours schedule.

Promoting Earth Week (15 April - 22 April) on UCD Campus

UCD Horticulture Society are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the first ever Earth Week on UCD Campus. With several exciting events lined up, Earth Week gives students a way to celebrate our Earth, building up the enthusiasm for the much anticipated global "Earth Day" Saturday 22 April 2017.
