Start Times are open ended so you can begin your registration at any stage from the date/time confirmed in your email. Do try to start your registration as soon as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting the modules you want.
I’ve logged into SIS Web but I don’t see the Book a Start Time button?
The Book a Start Time button will be available from 30 July 2012 (depending on your programme). Check here for the exact dates.
What are the advantages of having a Start Time?
You will know exactly what date/time you may start module registration from (no more getting up at 5:30am to see if the system is open). You will also have the convenience of being able do all parts of your registration, including picking Electives, in one go if you wish.
What happens if I don’t book a Start Time?
If you do not book a Start Time during the selection window, one will be allocated to you and you will receive an email detailing your Start Time. To give yourself the best chance of getting the modules you want we would strongly advise you to book your Start Time as early as possible.
If I’m not happy with the Start Time I’ve been given what can I do?
When you first log into SISWeb to book a Start Time you will be offered the earliest time available. You may choose a different time if you wish but it will most likely be a later one.

Please note:
  • Start Times will only be changed in the event of an error in allocation
  • Start Times cannot be changed by staff at the Student Desk, Programme Offices or School Offices
  • Start Times can not be swapped between students. A Start Time is particular to an individual student
If I get a later Start Time does that mean that those who got in ahead of me will have an advantage?
Places in Option modules and In-programme Electives are, as always, ‘first come, first served’ so if you have an earlier Start Time you may well have a better chance.

However, access to Start Times has been designed with fairness of competition in mind. Students who need to compete for the same modules will compete for the same Start Times.
I have already made travel plans and won’t be here when I have to book my Start Time. Can I do it earlier?
This will not be possible but remember that your Start Time can be booked via your SIS so as long as you have access to the internet on the day you can do it from wherever you are.
Will you be sending an email to remind me of my Start Time?
No, but you will receive a confirmation email when you first book your Start Time - don’t delete it! You will also see your Start Time when you log into SIS.
How will Electives work this year?
You will still pick Elective modules through the Electives tab in the Online Registration system but you will now be able to do this at the same time as your other module registration.

Places on In-Programme Electives will still be allocated on a first come first served basis so you’ll know straight away if you have a place. Places on General Electives will still be randomly allocated – on 8 September you will receive an email telling you whether or not you got a place on your chosen elective(s).

For more information on Electives click here.
I am on a leave of absence from UCD. Where can I find out information about the new Registration Start Times?
UCD Registry will send you an email in June with important information regarding your return this September, including Start Times. Also, check UCD Connect and the UCD Registry Facebook page for updates.
I am an Undergraduate repeating a stage – how will I know when to book my Start Time?
You will go online to book your Start Time at the same time as students in the stage you are repeating. Click here for dates. For example, if you are repeating Stage 1 then you will go online on the 29 August with the incoming Stage 1 Undergraduates.
I am a Graduate Taught student – when do I book my Start Time?
