Thesis Submission Checklist
Congratulations on being so close to submitting your thesis!
There are 2 versions of your thesis – your “thesis for examination” and your “final hard bound thesis”. You will initially submit your thesis for examination. Once this has been reviewed by your examination committee, you will make corrections (if necessary) before submitting your final hard bound thesis. Please find information below about submitting each version of your thesis.
Thesis for Examination
You can choose to submit your thesis for examination electronically via the eThesis system in SISWeb or you can submit printed, physical copies.
If you would like to submit your thesis electronically
, please discuss this with your supervisor and agree together whether or not you will submit your thesis this way. If you and your supervisor agree that you'll submit your thesis electronically, please refer to the eThesis Exam System Student Guide
for helpful information about the submission process.
If you decide to submit physical copies of your thesis
, please make sure that you’ve completed the steps below:
✓ Printed and bound enough copies:
The majority of students must submit 3 copies of their soft bound thesis to the Student Desk. If you are unsure how many copies to submit you should ask your supervisor.
✓ Paid all of the necessary fees:
In order for the Student Desk to accept your thesis, you must be fee compliant. The total amount that you will be required to pay will be determined by the date that you submit your thesis. For a list of submission deadline dates, please refer to our Thesis Submission & Fees
If you are unsure if you are fee compliant, or want to confirm if you have an outstanding balance to pay before submitting your thesis, please contact the Student Desk
and we will be happy to help.
✓ Completed the Research Degree Examination form.
Please ensure that you bring this form with you when you submit your thesis.
Final Hardbound Thesis
All students, no matter how they submit their thesis for examination, must submit a physical, final hard bound thesis to the Student Desk. Before you submit your final hard bound thesis, make sure that you’ve completed the steps below:
✓ Printed and bound enough copies:
You are only required to submit 1 hardbound thesis to the Student Desk but may want to print additional copies to keep yourself.
✓ Received the completed Thesis Correction Sign off Form
This form must be signed by the nominated member of the examination committee and turned in along with your hardbound thesis. Please note that if you had no corrections to make, you do not need this form. Important:
This form only applies to you if you submitted your thesis for examination physically. If you submitted your thesis for examination via the eThesis process you do not need to submit this form with your final hardbound thesis.
✓ Check your address:
Go to the “My Profile” of SISWeb and check that your permanent address is current, accurate and formatted correctly. Your ACCE results will only be sent by post to your permanent address in SISWeb.
Please note that if you require an embargo form (for those theses that can not be made available in the library until a later date), these forms do not need to be turned in when you submit your hardbound thesis. Embargo forms will be included with your ACCE results that you receive in the post.
