Professor Colm Harmon – Ireland and its brightest people

Economist Professor Colm Harmon focussed on the skills and leadership potential of the graduates at the conferring of Higher Degrees in the College of Human Sciences. He looked towards future opportunities, “In the same way that we can truly say that we built the US railroads in the 1800s, the new Irish may build new ways of thinking about Ireland, and the world in this dynamic era.”
Professor Colm Harmon is the Director of the UCD Geary Institute, which in 2008 was ranked by RePEc (Research Papers in Economics database) as 17th in Europe and 67th in the world economics institutions. Professor Harmon’s research focuses on Labour Economics, Behavioural Economics, Econometrics, Health Economics.
