Why do hurricanes happen?
Dr Gerald Mills explains the circumstances that combine to create the storms that ravage Atlantic coastlines from June to November each year. He looks at the composition, intensity and frequency of these systems and explains the damage caused by the different hurricane categories.
First year students of Geography, Planning & Environmental Policy can expect to look at subjects such as the Geography of Cities, Spatial Planning and Physical Geography & Environment. Geography can also be taken as a subject through Omnibus Arts, and modules may also be pursued as Horizons electives, timetables permitting.
