Programme Highlights
  • The programme content is highly flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of academics in different disciplines and at different stages of their academic careers.
  • The programme is delivered through a variety of modes and all modules have a face-to-face teaching component, extensive resources and self-directed learning tasks.
  • The 7.5 credit module “Becoming a Better University Teaching” will be taught in ‘block’ format over 4-5 days from September 2012 onwards. From this point onwards the BBUT module will be a core mandatory module.
  • Schools and subject areas can design their own continuing professional development modules and have them validated for credit.  
  • UCD Teaching and Learning provides a friendly and supportive environment for academics who wish to engage in inquiry into their own teaching and continually improve their practice. 
  • Encouraging critical engagement with the literature on teaching and learning including, where appropriate, supporting the writing of journal articles.
