The grants seek to promote development and sharing of digital learning resources and associated teaching practices through financial support for Learning Innovation Projects.
To align with the current strategic focus on the re-design of First Year assessment at module and programme level, this current call for NDLR LIPs is confined to proposals that support effective and efficient assessment re-design. Assessment includes assessment for learning (with feedback) and assessment of learning (graded assessment).
Proposals involving the use of the Blackboard toolset in assessment re-design are particularly welcome.
A number of grants with a maximum value of €2,500 each for individual applicants and €5,000 each for group applications will be awarded. See the Awards & Grants Calendar for application dates.
These grants are supported by the HEA through the national and local NDLR initiatives.
Eligible applications will be adjudicated on the basis of:
• the use of technology (in particular the Blackboard toolset) to support effective and efficient assessment re-design.*
• how well the project proposals promote the quality application of technology enhanced learning
• the number and quality of reusable learning resources to be developed, contributed and reused in the NDLR
• the extent to which the project proposals draw on and/or further develop existing reusable learning resources and the outputs of subject networks/communities
• the level to which the project proposals encourage staff members in the sharing of digital learning resources and associated teaching practices.
*Projects which do not utilise the Blackboard toolkit are also welcome but may receive a lower score in the application process.
Individuals/groups will complete an online application form detailing the following:
project overview
anticipated impact on assessment practice(s) at module/programme/school level.
projected number of reusable learing resources
Applications will be short-listed by an adjudication panel.
