Good Practice in Teaching & Learning
The purpose of this web page is to give an introduction to the main concepts and principles in the area of 'Good Practices in Teaching and Learning' in 3rd level education. A useful Irish publication in this area is 'Emerging Issues in the Practice of University Teaching and Learning'.This publication also includes a very useful overview of the educational theories and pedagogy of teaching and learning (Orison & Carlile, 2005)
We are still in the early stages of producing our web-site. Consequently, there are some sections that will need further development, while others are quite comprehensive. In addition, it is planned to have more sub-sections in the future such as, Inclusive Learning: Students With Particular Needs, Theories of Teaching and Learning, International / National Policies on 3rd Level Education, etc. The section of 'Good Practices in Student Assessment' greatly complements this section.
The main contributors of this web-page are identified at each of the sub-section and these include:
Jackie Lublin
Jennifer Moon
Dermot McCartan
Geraldine O'Neill
Tim McMahon
