Using Facebook
What is Facebook?
Facebook is a social networking tool that enables people to find and keep in touch with one another.
What does it do?
It offers a means to Academic Schools to provide a way of communicating with a wide cohort of academics, learners, alumni, associates, professional bodies etc.
It provides the individual with similar access.
Each may avail of messages, notice boards, images, shared documents, web resources etc.
Where do I get access and or /support?
Visit
www.Facebook.com - You will need an email and a chosen password to begin.
How do I use it in my teaching?
To provide access to teaching notices, resources, highlight seminars, special events etc. to the student cohort and the wider community. The value is in the ability to avail of a Facebook group and then receive automated notices of any such content.
It also enables the wider community (alumni, professional bodies, associates etc) to remain abreast of academic developments re: new programmes, opportunities for CPD, special events etc.
