What is a Podcast?

More often than not a Podcast is a short audio recording in a downloadable format that may be played on a mobile device. However increasingly Podcasts also include video content.

What does it do?

A podcast is a means to capture an event; a lecture, seminar, speech, etc. and provide it in a format compatible with mobile and MP3 players.

Where do I get access and or /support?

IT Services provide a number of lecture spaces where one may create podcasts.

How do I use it in my teaching?

To provide an audio enhanced version of my slides for download, to support review and reflection.

To capture visiting experts.

To provide video vignettes / case studies of real world events e.g. veterinary physical examinations.

As a simple audio track of a lecture available post presentation for student review.
