Entrance scholarships were presented by the
President, Dr Cosgrove, to 154 students at a
ceremony in O'Reilly Hall on Friday 21 November.
The scholars, all of whom began their undergraduate
degree courses in September, are from schools in 28
counties around Ireland including 20 students from
Northern Ireland.
Scholarships are guaranteed to all new entrants who
achieve a CAO points total, or set of A-level grades
which are above a predetermined level set by each
faculty.
Each recipient was presented with an award valued
at 1,270. The President also presented plaques to
the principals from each of the schools that were
attended by the scholarship winners.
