UCD sent two strong teams to outdoor intervarsities this year. The first team finished 3rd with a 5-1-0 record. They topped their group with some epic wins on Saturday but lost traction in the semifinal. UCD2 retained seed and put in a good performance, only losing to first teams all weekend. Congratulations to MVPs Ian and Jack, MSPs Liam and Celine, and A-gameers Conor and Stephen.
UCD1 were unstoppable on Sunday. On the windy GAA pitch, they rolled to victory 5 times, topping former champions UCC 12-7 in a brilliant final. Everyone put in a supreme effort as evidenced by a three way tie for MVP: congratulations to Frenchi, Hogi, and Liam. Massive thanks also to TD and weekend organizer Brian Gaynor.
Saturday saw the beginning of a top-class weekend of ultimate at UCDs sports grounds. Seven Ladies' and eight developmental teams took the field, and UCDs representation was very strong. The developmental team took 5th place after a series of very close losses, and UCD ladies fought hard all day to earn second place after a very close final vs. Trinity. Well done to both teams, but especially the ladies!
26.02.2012   SEIGE OF LIMERICK 2012
UCD boarded a rowdy bus on Friday night, and the banter didn't cease all weekend. UCD1 romped to a very strong finish in second place, and our own Conor Hogan was deemed MVP of the final. UCD2 took 18th place after taking a few games to come together and learn their strengths. The ladies came in 5th but displayed great improvement over the course of the weekend. Thanks for the well-run, class tournament, UL!
11.02.2012   UCD SECOND IN UNI LEAGUE 2012
The first team headed out to Santry for Uni League 2012. They were awake, enthusiastic, and ready to compete. Consistent from the get-go, they went 4-1-0 to bring home second place and a thirst for victory after this exciting kickoff to the outdoor season.
