Spinal Abnormalities

Spondylosis
A common condition of the vertebral column in which osteophytes develop at intervertebral spaces, resulting in bony bridging between vertebral bodies. Ankylosis of articular facets may also occur. It is most commonly seen in the region of greatest spinal curvature, where pressure on intervertebral disks is at a maximum – the thoracolumbar area.

Intervertebral foramina: Calcification of a nucleus or disc is a major finding and its radiopacity found in an intervertebral foramen.

Dens: Occasionally agenesis or fracture of the dens may be seen.
