How can I register for CVE at UCD?

To register for CVE at UCD simply visit our website and complete the short Sign Up Form. Once we have received your details we will be in contact with you within 2 working days. Please ensure you provide your current email address for prompt response.

We will send you an username and password to access the UCD CVE portal. Through this portal you can pay your annual membership fee and sign up for any CVE offerings that are currently available.

How do I pay the annual membership fee?

The annual membership fee can be paid online by credit or laser card. You can also request a Bank Giro to complete your payment. You must log into you UCD CVE account first to make a payment.

How do I pay for individual CVE offerings?

Individual CVE offerings can be paid online by credit or laser card. You can also request a Bank Giro to complete your payment. You must log into your account first to make a payment.

How can I access the library's collection of veterinary databases and ejournals?

Simply log into your UCD CVE account to access the online library. A library channel is presented to you; this can be located on the bottom left of your portal screen. To search for a journal, database etc. simply enter the name of the title you are looking for and click on the appropriate type from the options presented. Then click the search button. An overview of the online library is presented in a video below.

I can no longer access the online self-assessment, what do I do?

The self-assessments are set up so that you are given one attempt. If you score less than 50% you are prompted to sit a resit assessment.

If you clicked on the self-assessment link to preview the questions and did not submit any answer, this action will automatically count as your first attempt. It is important that you answer all questions when you first launch the self-assessment.

I got an error message when paying my membership fee online, what should I do? 

In the event that you receive an error message similar to: 'Error Message 505' while making your payment online, logout of your UCD CVE account and try again in 20 minutes. This error message is mostly likely due to the large volume of online payments being made across UCD at that particular time.

Accessing CVE Modules

All of our online CVE modules are delivered via our virtual learning platform – Blackboard. This tutorial demonstrates how you access Blackboard and demonstrates a CVE module.

The UCD Veterinary library hosts a wide range of e-Journals and databases. As a member of the UCD CVE learning community you can access any of these resources. Please note however, some resources can only be accessed on campus at UCD.
To access resources simply log into your UCD CVE account and click on the library channel; this is located at the bottom left hand side of the screen.
