WSAVA International Award for Service to the Profession
This award is made to a vet judged to have made an outstanding contribution to the
fostering and exchange of scientific and professional ideas throughout the world.The recipient was chosen on the basis of service to local, state, national and international organisations that have catalysed scientific meetings, exchnage of information and international goodwill, for the benefit of the profession worldwide.
It has been given to Boyd Jones, Professor of Companion Animal Medicine at Massey
University in New Zealand. He was Professor in Small Animal Clincial Studies at UCD, and Dean of the Faculty from 2002 - 2007.
Professor Jones has made a particular contribution to global veterinary development and learning, speaking regularly at events around the world. He is also an editorial board member, a referee for a range of clinical journals and an examiner for degrees and specialist college qualifications. He has published 170 refereed papers and book chapters in areas including working dogs and veterinary education.
