UCD's Veterinary Medicine Programme receives AVMA Accreditation
In March 2008 the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education voted to grant full accreditation to Veterinary Medicine at UCD for the maximum period of 7 years. Grace Mulcahy, the Dean of Veterinary Medicine at UCD said, "This is a real milestone in the history of veterinary education in Ireland and reflects years of strategic planning, the vision of previous Deans and the huge effort put in by all our staff in the months and weeks prior to the visit".
UCD's Veterinary Medicine Programme is now one of only five veterinary schools currently accredited by the AVMA in Europe. As a result, graduates from the UCD programme will now be able to receive a license to practice veterinary medicine in the US or Canada without having to complete a special ‘foreign graduates’ exam.
North American students who are interested in applying for Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin should apply via the Atlantic Bridge Program.
