VCI and EAEVE Visitation 2010

The Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)  has a statutory responsibility to assure the quality of veterinary education in the Republic of Ireland.   The last VCI visitation was in 1996, and visitation usually take place every ten years.   So, the VCI Team which visited during the week of Oct 11th-15th this year would have been reviewing quite a different school from that which existed at the time of the last visitation, when the splendid new Veterinary Sciences Centre and Veterinary Hospital at Belfield were but a twinkle in the eye of then Dean, Michael Monaghan.  The visitation team was accompanied by two visitors from the European Association of Establishments of Veterinary Education.
