El Cielo Association de Mallorca Scholarship.
Students receiving an offer for UCD’s Graduate Entry Veterinary Medicine Programme for September 2011 are eligible to apply for the El Cielo Association de Mallorca Scholarship. Candidates whose application for entry is in progress may also apply. The El Cielo Association is a charitable organization dedicated to improving standards of animal welfare and veterinary care.
The scholarship is made possible by generous donation from the Association, will be awarded to provide financial assistance to an entrant to the UCD Graduate Entry Veterinary Medicine programme in September 2011.
The criteria for award of the Scholarship are as follows:
Motivation (50%)
The student will have to show evidence, in a personal statement of no more than 800 words, of their motivation to study veterinary medicine and evidence of a determination to develop a veterinary career. This may include evidence of relevant work experience in a veterinary setting, research experience, and evidence that the candidate has full knowledge of the wide range of the veterinary career pathways. (In the event that an applicant has already submitted a personal statement to UCD, the applicant may choose to use that statement or submit a new one).
Academic Excellence and Aptitude (50%)
Candidates are likely to apply from a variety of academic backgrounds. Evidence taken into account under this category will include academic grades/GPA at undergraduate and/or post-graduate level, and performance in GAMSAT, GRE or equivalent tests as applicable.
The closing date for entries is Friday, June 17th 2011, with offers made early July 2011.
