Continuing Veterinary Education

‌Changes in agricultural practice, trends in domestic animal ownership and increasing internationalisation mean that veterinary practitioners are faced with new challenges every day.

While Vets and Vet Nurses have continually developed their professional and clinical skills throughout their careers, the mandatory requirement for Continuing Veterinary Education (CVE) brings to the fore the need for relevant, timely courses to meet practitioners' needs.

Through the UCD CVE Educational Portal, we offer a range of flexible online, distance and on-campus courses for veterinary practitioners and veterinary nurses.

These online offerings bring CVE to your desktop. We hope you find them of benefit, and always welcome your suggestions for further development.

With best wishes,

Rory

New CVE Offering - Livestock Faecal Egg Counts

A new CVE offering to assist veterinarians, veterinary nurses and other diagnostic staff in conducting faecal egg counts is now available. Developed by Dr Theo De Waal, Dr Annetta Zintl and Ms Amanda Lawlor in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, this CVE offering is in response to the changes in the protocols for use of antiparasitic drugs in farm animals, and the envisaged demand for parasitology diagnostic services.

This offering can be completed online, in your own time and should take approximately six hours to complete.  Through a series of online lectures and supporting resources you will be guided through the process of conducting faecal egg counts.
