Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology

Profile

Based on the lower ground floor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine building, the department has teaching responsibilities for third and fourth year veterinary undergraduate students. Two lecture theatres and a practical classroom are provided to cater for about 80 students per course per year. The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (MVB) programme is a five year course. Research is now a major objective of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and particularly so within the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology. 

The departmental mission statement is:

We provide knowledge and expertise which promote health in animals and humans.
