Education Strategy to 2014
UCD has now launched its Strategic Plan to 2014. Within this plan, our Education strategy seeks to consolidate the ambitious achievements of the Strategic Plan 2005-2008 , but injects a fresh impetus for Quality across our educational offerings and our service provision to the entire university learning community. We will do this while growing our graduate, international and mature student populations.
The Strategy is available to download here. The high quality learning and student experience at UCD is made visible through the Attributes of the UCD Graduate. Achieving these attributes drives our Education objectives, institutional priorities and the choices we make. The UCD Graduate is:
-
Academically excellent
-
Intellectually flexible and culturally literate
-
Globally engaged
We will measure our success through a range of targets and qualitative expectations, not the least of which includes the engagement and satisfaction of our students. UCD's strategic objectives to 2014 are:
-
To foster early and lasting student engagement
-
To grow and develop graduate education
-
To strengthen disciplines and academic programmes
-
To stimulate creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and active citizenship
-
To widen participation and support lifelong learning
-
To internationalise the student experience
-
To excel in teaching, learning innovation and academic development.
In addition, we have set ourselves goals and objectives for student administrative and support services, the vital ingredient in the delivery of our educational objectives. Further information on these objectives will be available shortly.
