Stage 1 Orientation 2017-18
Orientation is a very important week for first years entering UCD. Orientation gives you the time and space (without the pressure of beginning lectures and tutorials) to find your way around the campus, to begin to understand the BA degree and the supports offered while you study here, and to make new friends.
On the morning of your first day of Orientation, you will attend the President’s welcome in O’ Reilly Hall at 09.00 sharp (doors open at 08.40), and then meet your peer mentor, who will guide you and a small group of fellow first years through Orientation and your transition to life as a BA student. An online timetable is available here and your peer mentor will have a detailed, tailored Orientation timetable for you and your group when you meet them.
You may feel a little nervous about coming to University; you may not know anyone in UCD yet, or you may be arriving with some friends from home or from school. Whatever your circumstances are, the transition into University life will be exciting and challenging and it is crucial (and compulsory) that you attend Orientation.
