The aim of Shadowing Day for ALL is to offer prospective students (who are linked to UCD Access & Lifelong Learning for outreach activities) the opportunity to find out more about undergraduate study, to explore the UCD campus and to experience UCD student life first hand. Participants are invited to spend one day on campus in the company of a UCD student learning about their programme of interest and about college life in general. We encourage UCD undergraduates from all disciplines to apply to be "shadowed" so that we can give a full flavour of all UCD has to offer.

When: The next Shadowing Days will take place in Semster 2 2017-18.
Where: UCD Belfield Campus.

How to apply - prospective students: Students from our linked schools and institutions will be contacted directly about making an application.

How to apply - UCD students: Advertising for the 2017-18 Shadowing Days will begin in early Semester 2. Keep an eye out for details on posters, plasma screens and our website for details.

Future You is a college mentoring programme for Fifth Year school pupils who aspire to go on to third level study. UCD Access & Lifelong Learning manages this programme with r our partner schools in Tallaght, Ballyfermot, Clondalkin, Crumlin, South Dublin and Bray.
The programme goal is to:

  • improve the pupil's awareness of college
  • increase their belief in their own ability to attend college
  • share important information: how to study, how to apply for college and what are college supports

Future You mentors are college students who have been supported in UCD by Access & Lifelong Learning. They are past pupils and live in the same communities as the participating schools. Structured mentoring sessions take place in linked schools throughout the one year programme. Pupils also have opportunity to visit UCD where mentors have opportunity to show mentees the campus and share their experience.

The programme is sponsored by Citi Foundation. Since 2012, 867 school pupils have taken part in Future You Mentoring.
