UCD Access & Lifelong Learning provides a Dyslexia Screening Service for registered students of UCD. This free service is provided to allow UCD students who feel they are experiencing significant difficulties with learning to attend an initial screening for dyslexia. The screening service aims to provide students with an indication of whether or not it would be useful for them to get a full Educational Psychologist’s Assessment. It is the student's choice as to whether he/she will pursue a full assessment.

If the student wishes to pursue further testing after the screening a list of all registered psychologists can be found on the Psychological Society of Ireland website, or a reduced rate/cost may be available from the Dyslexia Association of Ireland (DAI), www.dyslexia.ie. Students may be able to seek financial support to have this full assessment from the Student Welfare Fund.

To make an appointment for a screening please email disability@ucd.ie. The appointment will last approximately two hours. Please note:

  • The screening will not provide students with a diagnosis.
  • Students will not be provided with supports or accommodations in UCD on the basis of the results of a screening.
