Academic Skills and Well-being

Studying in University involves developing certain academic and well-being skills. In order to support students in developing these skills we have developed a series of online and in-person workshops.

How to access our online recorded and interactive workshops is described below. These are available all students in UCD and can be accessed at any time. Our in-person workshops will be advertised to relevant students when available.

We understand you may need to develop or learn about an Academic Skills at different times during the year. We have created a Brightspace module called ALL Student Supports: University for All, to support you in your learning at UCD.  This can be accessed at any time so you can fit the workshops into your schedule.

The topics covered include organisation, note taking, digital skills, writing and research, study skills and revision, avoiding procrastination, apps for learning, group work, mind mapping, referencing, presentations, exam preparation, self care and stress management.

To enrol in the module follow the following instructions:

  • Log in to Brightspace, click "Explore" and search for "All student supports" in the search bar.
  • Click on the module - ALL Student Supports: University for All and click - enroll. The module will then appear under Perpetual Semester on your Brightspace homepage.
