Biographical History

W.A. Magennis was Professor of Metaphysics in University College Dublin during the 1930s and the 1940s.

Scope and Content

Two letters from unidentified correspondents to W.A. Magennis: one from 3 Herbert Street, Dublin, Magennis’ own address (27 September 1928, 4pp), mainly concerning the inadequacy of court sittings, in particular the Circuit Court; one incomplete (3pp, beginning missing) concerning the treatment of child development in a book loaned by Magennis. One letter from Ethel Mulvany, Dublin Literary Society, to Magennis, president of the Society (13 February 1938, 2pp) enclosing a note from Dorothy Macardle explaining that she is unable to speak to the Society (9 February 1938, 1p).
