Are you Recruitment Ready?

Our new Recruitment Ready Programme will help you to put your best foot forward when you are competing for graduate jobs or internships.

Whether you are looking for an internship or a graduate job, the recruitment market can be difficult to navigate. The Covid 19 pandemic is creating uncertainty for all of us but the good news is that there are still lots of employers seeking to hire UCD students. We’ve introduced the Recruitment Ready Programme to help students prepare for entering the job market and to feel confident when making applications and doing interviews. We know you have a lot to offer so let us help you to successfully showcase your strengths to employers.

What do I have to do?

During the 2021/22 academic year, complete at least 4 of the 5 activities below

  1. Take a Personality & Skills Assessment (or assessments) your choice. There are lots to choose from including Strengths, Personal Resilience, Learning Styles, Motivation Questionnaire and Personality Insight.
  2. Attend a virtual recruitment fair. Graduate Recruitment Fairs take place in September and October and the Internship Fair takes place in January. Register via MyCareer.
  3. Attend at least 2 of our open workshops. Choose from CVs & Cover Letters, Linkedin and Interview Skills. Register via MyCareer.
  4. Have your CV reviewed by a Career & Skills Consultant at a Quick Query consultation.
  5. Do a practice video interview via our MyCareer platform and get some feedback.

Make sure you keep a record of the dates on which you complete various activities. When you have completed at least 4 of the 5 activities listed above, complete the Recruitment Ready application form. It should only take 5 minutes. All you need to do is enter your contact details and the dates that you completed the activities. We will verify the information against our records and then email you your certificate.

If you would like to count participation in the Recruitment Ready programme towards achievement of the UCD Advantage Award you can find out more about how to register and the steps you need to take here.

What are the benefits of participating in this Programme?
  • You can work at your own pace - complete the activities at any stage during the 2021/22 academic year, in any order you want.
