Dr Yan Yan has been awarded at the Interstellar Initiative

Monday, 21 August 2017

CBNI principal investigator Dr Yan Yan has been awarded 1st Place on the Outstanding Early Career Investigator Team Presentation in Cancer by the Interstellar Initiative.

The Interstellar Initiative, presented jointly by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development and the New York Academy of Sciences, involved a conference in March 2017 and a follow-up workshop at the beginning of August. The Initiative aimed to recognize the world's most promising Early Career Investigators in the fields of cancer, regenerative medicine, and neuroscience.

"I feel privileged to attend the Interstellar Initiative and to work with my team members and mentors to tackle the critical medical challenges. Certainly, such interactions have brought new perspectives to my current research. I am very excited about our research plan and potential synergies in our team, which may provide new means to enhance cancer immunotherapy," said Yan. She is currently setting up her own group at CBNI.
