Our Research

The central strategic priority area to which much of the activity in the College of Social Sciences and Law relates is Culture, Economy and Society. The world’s major socio-economic problems are complex in nature, they are systemic in form, they are interconnected in expression, and they demand urgent attention by government. Our researchers investigate the intended and unintended impacts and consequences of public policies and explore the role, rights, and welfare of individuals in contemporary society and their changing perspectives on belonging, identity and citizenship.

The current priority of the Centre is to develop research projects in the following three areas:

  • Vulnerability
  • Trust
  • Empathy
