The UCD Centre for Humanitarian Action is engaged in a number of policy fora and think tanks at all societal levels. The Centre capitalises on the networks established to service its education and reserach activitites.
At a global level, some of the stakeholders the UCD Centre for Humanitarian Action engages with are:
- United Nations Office for the Coordinatination of Humanitarian Affairs
- The UN Refugee Agency
- Network on Humanitarian Action (NOHA)
- European commission's DG Humanitarian aid & Civil Protection
- International Commitee of the Red Cross
- German Red Cross
At a national level, The Centre has forged strong relationships with Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade with whom it enjoys a 'prefered partner' status. The Centre staff are members of the Development studies assosociation Ireland and are regular contributors at its events. All of the main Irish NGOs have senior staff who are graduates of the Centre's post-graduate programmes in Humanitarian Action. The Centre has capitalised on this strong relationship, which continues to grow.
