Our research is focused on the development of functional biomaterials including polymers and hydrogels with the aim of improving therapeutic outcomes for EB, diabetic wounds, burn wounds & acute wounds, cartilage regeneration and neurodegenerative diseases.

Specifically, our current research includes:

  • Mechanistic understanding of ATRP, RAFT and CU0-mediated RDRP
  • Kinetically controlled (co)polymerization of MVMs
  • Macromolecular design and engineering via RDRP techniques (ATRP, RAFT, CU0-mediated RDRP, ROP and anionic polymerisation) and click chemistry
  • Multifunctional cyclized/knotted and branched polymers as gene delivery vectors
  • Injectable extracellular matrix (ECM) biopolymer hybrid hydrogels for stem cells encapsulation and drug delivery
  • Bio-inspired responsive polymers as tissue adhesives
