Luigina Ciolfi is Professor of Human Centred Computing at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Limerick. She researches the role and impact of digital technologies in people’s lives from a multidisciplinary perspective bridging computing, design and the social sciences.
Luigina has been an invited speaker in thirteen countries, co-authored over 100 publications, and holds expert roles for numerous funding bodies and scientific committees. She was a member of the Irish National Consultation Panel on Cultural Heritage and Global Change, and visiting fellow at Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute.
Recent books are “Cultural Heritage Communities: Technologies and Challenges” (Routledge), “Human-Computer Interactions in Museums” (Morgan & Claypool), and "Made To Work" (Routledge).
Luigina is senior member of the ACM - Association for Computing Machinery and member of the British Psychological Society.
