Information & Guidance - Master of Engineering (ME) Stage 1
The normal workload is 60 credits, with options for Professional Work Placement. Students must follow the Stage 1 Core and Option Modules as per their relevant ME Programme listed below. When commencing online module registration, it is important that students refer to the Programme Framework Structure for their ME Programme (see below), in order to identify the modules that are denoted as Core Modules (i.e. modules that must be completed over the course of the student's studies at UCD) and Optional Modules (where students have some choice).
It is recommended that students select modules in consultation with their Programme Director/Coordinator.
If a student finds that they are unable to register to a particular module because of a pre-requisite issue, they may need to obtain their Programme Director/co-ordinator’s permission to register to that module.
However, in the first instance, students should contact the Engineering and Architecture College Office who can offer advice here.
Work Placement
In the event of any queries regarding selection of Professional Work Placement long or short modules, students should consult with and obtain prior approval of the relevant ME Programme Director/Coordinator before registering to their module selection. Should any manual registration assistance be required, please contact the Engineering and Architecture College Office. Specific queries relating to the selection processes for Internships/Professional Work Placement modules should be directed to (opens in a new window)eainternships@ucd.ie
Master of Engineering (ME) Stage 2
The normal workload is 60 credits. Students must follow the Stage 2 Core and Option Modules as per their relevant ME stream listed below.
