Graduate Taught Students: Information for Incoming Students
Completing Module Registration
When attempting to complete their online registration, some incoming Graduate Taught students may experience difficulties in completing their module selection online.
A common issue is eligibility to take modules because the UCD online registration system is looking for proof that certain pre-requisite modules have been completed.
Please note that if students experience any issue with their Module Selection in terms of eligibility to take any of the modules offered by their programme, that they must email the UCD Engineering and Architecture Programme Office who will assist them.
Students must complete the “UCD College of Engineering & Architecture Programme Office Registration Issue Form” which is available from the UCD Engineering and Architecture Programme Office website.
Students should also discuss their module selections with their Programme Director/ Coordinator at their scheduled Advisory session to ensure that they are in compliance with the programme structure.
On Tuesday September 5th 2017 we welcomed our incoming 2017 graduate taught students to the College of Engineering & Architecture. The slides from this session can be found at Orientation Presentation 2017.

Congratulations on your offer to the UCD College of Engineering & Architecture programmes. Please be advised that the start date for registration for Graduate Engineering & Architecture programmes is the 14th of August 2017. The UCD Engineering and Architecture Programme Office looks after all of our Graduate Taught Programmes as a first point of contact along with assistance from the Engineering Schools.
Check the Get in Touch section for further details.
Please note that applicants are normally required to provide original documentation (generally this refers to academic transcripts only but other documents may be required depending on the course in question) before they are allowed to complete enrolment procedures.Entrants who have graduated from institutions (other than UCD) should provide the following:
- The original hard-copy academic transcripts, specifying the subjects studied and the grades attained, from the issuing educational institution/awarding body or, alternatively, a secure link to an online verification system provided by that institution/awarding body.
- Entrants whose first language is not English should also provide proof of English language proficiency.
- Any documentation not in English should be accompanied by an official English translation.
- Uploaded soft-copies , certified hard-copies, Garda stamped copies, original degree parchments* etc. are not acceptable in this regard.*(i.e. this cannot be substituted for the transcript)
These documents can be presented by either of the following methods.
Post them to:
UCD Applications - Verification,Tierney Building, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland; Make sure you include your student number.Applicants from the Republic of Ireland who wish to have their original documentation returned should forward a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Applicants from outside the Republic of Ireland should forward a self-addressed envelope along with the appropriate reply coupon - Universal Postal Union coupons are available in most countries. Information about the cost of postage in Ireland can be obtained from An Post. If originals are received in the absence of a self-addressed envelope they will be archived in line with the UCD Applications Records Management Policy: Alternatively students can collect their documents at the Student Desk compliant to the time conditions set out in the Applications Records Management Policy.
Bring them in person to the Student Desk, Tierney Building, UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4 at any time during opening hours. In the majority of cases your transcripts will then be verified and returned to you on the spot. If this is not possible, due the volume of documentation received on any given day, a time will be arranged when you can return to collect them.
You can view your student record in SISWeb at any point.
To do this, log into SISWeb using your UCD student number and password. Click on the Registration, Fees & Assessment tab and select UView in the menu list.
UView allows you to check information such as your Programme history, contact information, module registration, GPA and grades.
The University uses email as an official means of communication with students and provides a UCD Connect email to each student for this purpose. Communications will also be sent to the personal email account for all students who have provided a non-UCD Connect account.
Go to the ‘My Profile’ tab in SISWeb and check that your personal details are up to date.If you don’t want UCD to use your personal email address, you can tell us using the ‘My Profile’ tab.
Please note: Your UCD Connect email address remains the main point of contact for all communications.
Michelle Mathews in the UCD Engineering and Architecture Programme Office will have looked after your admission to the College. Her colleagues in the UCD Engineering and Architecture Programme Office look after all of our Graduate Taught Programmes as a first point of contact, along with assistance from the Engineering Schools.
