Launch of Talking Towns seminar series
The Earth Institute is supporting UCD Centre for Irish Towns its Talking Towns seminar series returns for 2022. The series aims to spark conversations about the challenges facing Irish towns, the opportunities they offer, and the role of research and policy in bringing about the revitalisation of towns in Ireland. Three seminars are lined up for Spring:
- The border and Irish towns: 1-2pm, Thursday 3 March
- The Life of Towns through the lens of Public Space: 1-2pm, Thursday 7 April
- Transformations of life & work in towns: 1-2pm, Thursday 5 May
The seminar on 3 March on ‘the border and Irish towns’ will feature Caroline Creamer (International Centre for Local and Regional Development, Maynooth University), Killian Doherty (Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and Dr Paula McCloskey and Dr Sam Vardy (a place of their own)
