Fulbright Awards Information Session

Online | 26 September 2020

Information session held on 26 September 2020 online on the Fulbright awards scheme which funds visits by Irish scholars to the United States for up to one year.Fulbright Irish Awards are grants for Irish citizens, or E.U. citizens resident in the Republic of Ireland for three or more years, to complete (as appropriate) postgraduate, postdoctoral or professional research or lecturing in the United States for a period up to 1 year. There are other strands including the TechImpact and the Fulbright-Schuman Awards. Full details are on the Fulbright website.

The scheme can offer huge opportunities for researchers to develop professional expertise and knowledge, to build invaluable networks in the United States and become part of the Fulbright community. Many Earth Institute members have benefitted from this scheme over the years, using the opportunity to explore diverse research topics, for example, seaweed and its use in the bioeconomy, fatbergs, digital agriculture, and curating of archaeobotanical remains.
