UCD School of Education PME History Methods students field trip to Collins Barracks
The PME History Methods students visited Collins Barracks, Decorative Arts and History, National Museum of Ireland, on Wednesday April 18th.
We were hosted by the Education Team who presented to us on the resources which they have available for Teachers in secondary schools. The students engaged with objects from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, associated with the Centenary of Commemoration 1912-1922.
The students were given a tour of several exhibitions currently on show in the museum including, Soldiers and Chiefs, Proclaiming a Republic,Easter 1916 and Recovered Voices from World War 1.
