Speakers:

  • Darren O'Neill, Partner, PwC Ireland:
    Darren's presenation included a
n overview of Artificial Intelligence and related emerging technologies with a focus on implementation / adoption priorities that organisations cannot afford to ignore.

  • Padraig Kenny, Europe Digital Services Leader, Arup:
Padraig shared how Arup is developing AI/ML uses across the project lifecycle to move from hype to reality. "The potential of AI/ML in the design and engineering of the built environment is great, particularly with tackling the challenges of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In the built environment we are still at the stage of needing to experiment with AI/ML, find out what works, overcome barriers, before we will be able to get the full benefit."

  • Douglas McMahon, Partner, McCann Fitzgerald:
During his presentation, Doug examined some potential areas of conflict between the current legal regime and AI, and also looking to the future to consider how the law might develop in light of these conflicts. "Even laws that have only recently made it onto the statute books aren’t drafted with AI in mind."

  • Dr Kevin O'Flynn, Director of Business Development (Ireland), AltViz:
AltViz has helped companies like eBay, Hovis Bakers, and Greenergy to increase sales, cut costs, and decrease risk through intelligent automation. Kevin presented these real life examples, explaining the background and why the company looked for an automation solution, He gave advice on how to get started with an automation project and highlighted potential challenges that can arise along the way.

The EGA also gratefully acknowledges the support of all our Corporate Members.
