Outdoor Fitness Classes 2020

Healthy UCD Outdoor Fitness Classes

outdoor fitness

Healthy UCD in partnership with Culture & Engagement and UCD Sport and Fitness are delighted to pilot outdoor fitness classes for UCD employees to be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

These 45-minute classes will consist of non-weight bearing exercises; enabling participants to increase their strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health without using shared equipment. Classes will be delivered by UCD Sport & Fitness professionals.

The classes will be held in a suitable outdoor environment, to ensure social distancing is maintained. Each class participant will complete their workout in a 2m x 2m (6ft x 6ft) square to ensure social distancing is observed and there is no contact with other attendees.

In addition, each participant will arrive in their activewear and bring their own hand towel. No showering or changing room facilities will be provided. Toilet facilities will be available if required.

Updated class times & increased class sizes from 29th June

Classes will now take place from 1:30-2:15pm and 4:30-5:15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Note: The 2:30pm and 3:30pm classes have been cancelled.

Up to 40 people can now attend a class (with social distancing) due to larger outdoor gatherings being permitted from 29 June 2020. Places will be available on a first come first served basis for the programme and each class will accommodate 40 people. The morning of a class you will receive a notification, and the first 40 to sign-up for each class that day will be admitted.

The venue for the classes is changing to the Triangle area in front of the Sports Centre, near the zebra crossing as the UCD Sports Centre will be opening from 29 June.
