Page updated 1 December 2021

Select a target distance that you think you can reach over the course of the challenge (28 days). The challenge is open to all employees of UCD and all levels of fitness and mobility. You have two options to choose from: 100km or 200km.

Work towards your target by recording your daily distance travelled on our challenge page as you go.

Challenge summary:

  • Sign-up and choose your target distance
    • 100 km (about 3.5k a day)
    • 200 km (about 7k a day)
  • Challenge runs Monday, 1 November to Sunday, 28 November 2021 (28 days)
  • Take a walk/jog/run each day to improve your physical and mental health
  • Record your distance travelled via our challenge page. The best way to do this is to log in each morning and record the total distance travelled the day before. We've found that working a day in arrears is easier than updating the same day.

Challenge Summary

Total distances travelled:

  • 100km Challenge Total - 5,974
  • 200km Challenge Total - 13,922

Once you reach your target, your name is removed from the recording sheet. Don't worry, your total will remain visible but you won't be able to enter any more KM's.

Hitting your target doesn't mean you should stop exercising! Now that you've built some movement into your daily routine we would encourage you to keep it up. We'll be hack with more challenges in the next trimester.

We would recommend that you just enter your total distance traveled once a day.

Go in each morning and enter the total distance from the day before. This will be added to your overall total.

No problem. Email engage@ucd.ie and we'll check the records.

Unfortunately you can't switch distances at this time. We'd encourage everyone to try to reach their target.

If you surpass it then that's even better!

If you mis-enter your distance, or someone else enters under your name then let engage@ucd.ie know and we will try to amend the record.
