"Come and Sing" at the UCD Festival

Wednesday, 11 May, 2016

Did you know that singing in a group is beneficial not only to broadening your social network but can also improve your physical and mental health? In fact, there is scientific research demonstrating that group singing can promote happiness and wellbeing, can reduce stress and muscle tension and can even boost your immune system!

As part of the UCD Festival 2016, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Group on Events & Communications organised an event entitled "Come & Sing". Staff and members of the community joined in our pop-up choir and, after rehearsing the selected songs for 30 minutes, those involved gave a short performance on the Festival stage for all to enjoy.  A special thanks to Amy Ryan, UCD Philharmonic Choir Director & the UCD School of Music, who led the event on the day.
