Geary Masterclass, Systematic Literature Reviewing
The seminar will introduce participants to systematic literature reviewing, covering topic selection, search strategy, database searching, quality evaluation, record screening, data extraction, and writing the review. In the workshop, participants will develop a topic for database searching and will practice searching, screening and data extraction in small groups.
Jennifer Symonds is Associate Professor of Education at the School of Education. Jennifer’s Engagement in Learning, Schools and Societies research lab (www.elsslab.com) seeks to understand how individuals construct, experience, and sustain their engagement in various activities in childhood and across the lifespan. Jennifer is Director of Research on the Doctorate in Educational Psychology programmer, where she teaches systematic literature reviewing for doctoral theses and publication. Jennifer has taught masterclasses on systematic literature reviewing for universities in the UK and in Norway.
