Publicpolicy.ie: 'Impact 2030: strategies for strengthening the impact of research on policy'
A discussion with the Geary Institute for Public Policy, and Deirdre Lillis, Assistant Secretary General, Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science on 'Impact 2030: strategies for strengthening the impact of research on policy'. This event provided an opportunity to hear from Deirdre Lillis and Trudy Duffy about the Department's recently published research and innovation policy statement - Impact 2030 - and the plans to strengthen engagement between researchers and policy makers, which is central to this strategy. Michelle Norris and Laura Foley spoke of the Geary Institute's work on maximising policy impact, in particular its recently revamped online research dissemination platform - publicpolicy.ie. Most importantly, the event provided an opportunity for UCD researchers who conduct policy-relevant research to engage with policy makers and discuss ideas for strengthening links between researchers and policy makers. The discussion was chaired by Prof Orla Feely, UCD Vice President for Research, Innovation and Impact.
If you were unable to make the event in person a recording was made that you can access here. We hope that everyone enjoyed and that you all keep an eye out as we continue to release publicpolicy.ie papers!
