UCD Geary Institute Conference: Social Conditions and Social Housing: past, present and future

Thursday, 26th of June, 12 noon -3.30 p.m

This half day conference marks the launch of a major longitudinal study of social conditions in seven Irish social housing estates.

The conference will examine the factors identified by the research which make some social estates into successful, settled communities which are in high demand among applicants for housing, while others are not liveable neighbourhoods.

In addition the future of social housing neighbourhoods in Ireland , in terms of the financing and delivery of new building, regeneration and anti-poverty measures, will be debated.

The conference will take place in the F2 Centre in Fatima Mansions, Dublin 8.  An attendance fee of €30 will apply.  This will cover lunch and a copy of the book based on the research (click on cover below for further details).
