Assistant Professor - Economic Geography (Tenure-track)

The School of Geography at University College Dublin invites applications for a permanent, tenure-track position in Economic Geography. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and will begin 1 September 2017.

The ideal candidate will have a strong training in economic geography and interests in applied and theoretical aspects of the field, with a particular emphasis on quantitative approaches and spatial modelling methods. Research and teaching focus areas might include, but are not limited to, technological change and economic development, the evolution of urban and regional economies, global production networks and value chains, processes of globalization, and socio-spatial interactions of economic activity. Interest in evolutionary economic geography and expertise in social network analysis methods and theories conjunction with relevant spatial datasets of socio-economic indicators, as well as programming skills (R, Java, Python, etc.), would be considered an asset.
