UCD Global Greening Project: Student Scholarship

Enter the Saint Patrick's Day competition and be in with a chance to win one of your students a scholarship to study abroad in Ireland at University College Dublin!

University College Dublin (UCD) is joining other Irish universities, in partnership with Tourism Ireland and Aer Lingus, to launch a unique competition for a student scholarship. You and your office can win a Summer Program Scholarship - including flights-  for one of your students to come and study abroad at UCD next summer.

You will have the chance of winning one of three UCD scholarships for your students for the following programs:

  1. One Health Sciences Summer Program Scholarship (full program fee + return flights
  2. One Irish Studies Summer Program Scholarship (full program fee + return flights)
  3. One Irish Consultancy Experience (Summer) Scholarship (full program fee + return flights)

To be within a chance to win one of these scholarships, valued at approx. $5,000, all you and your university have to do is get involved in this year’s Global Greening Campaign for Saint Patrick’s Day.

Over the last 11 years, Tourism Ireland has worked to ‘green’ iconic locations and buildings across the world from the Sydney Opera House to the Empire State Building. You can view all the landmarks that were involved in 2019's global greening event. This year, Tourism Ireland is partnering with Irish universities to encourage North American partners to go green for Saint Patrick's Day. We are asking you as UCD's partner to join in - and win one of your students a scholarship!

How to Apply

All you have to do is organise a greening event at your university or office.  A ‘greening’ can be:

  1. Turning your website and social media channels green
  2. All staff and students wearing green in virtual meetings and classes

These scholarships are only available to partners of UCD and once you confirm your participation and submit proof of your ‘’greening’’ you will be entered into the draw.

Once you have decided how you will ‘go green’, we would ask you to post pictures of your ‘greening’ on social media and tag, as well as @EducationInIreland and @TourismIreland.
