On 15 November 2023, the winner of UCD's ThesisIn3 competition, Sergey Katsuba represented UCD in the Irish Universities Association (IUA) National 'Three Minute Thesis' Competition, in the Royal Irish Academy, Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
8 winners of their individual university competitions were challenged to present their PhD research in three minutes, using only one slide, to a non-specialist audience. UCD Graduate Studies was very proud to see Sergey presenting his fascinating work in the competition. Professor Barbara Dooley, Acting Registrar, Deputy President and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor Paul McCabe, Dean of Graduate Studies attended the event.
Well done Sergey!

Value of participating in your university’s ‘Thesis in 3’ competition:
'The UCD competition helped me to be concise and clear when presenting my research. It also helped to summarize everything I do in short presentation and to verbalize the impact that I am hoping to achieve with this research. This greatly contributes to the vision for the research project without which it is really hard to work every day.'
